Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
With over 800 species, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is the perfect place for family fun. The zoo runs events throughout the year for both older and younger children where your kids can learn about different animals through the zoo’s educational opportunities and interactive demonstrations. From up-close animal exhibits, the mountaineer sky ride, and the historic 1926 carousel, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has some of the best activities for kids in Colorado Springs. They also host a Military Appreciation Week in September with discounted admission.

Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center
Garden of the Gods, a registered National Natural Landmark, has so much outdoor fun to offer! From monthly nature presentations, interactive exhibits, the educational Geo-Trekker movie, and the most beautiful red rocks, Garden of the Gods is a must-see for the whole family. No matter what you want to do, Garden of the Gods has something for any family member.

Visit Pikes Peak
Nicknamed America’s Mountain, Pikes Peak is the best way to view Colorado. With an elevation of 14,115 feet, your family will feel immersed in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. There are many ways to enjoy the mountain either by car on the Pikes Peak Highway, a guided tour, or by train on the Pikes Peak Cog Railway. However you decide to go up the mountain, Pikes Peak will offer some of the most beautiful views your family has ever seen.
If your family wants to learn more about Pikes Peak, the Meet the Ranger program is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the mountain’s history, geology, wildlife, and events. The North Slope Recreation Area is a can’t-miss attraction on your journey to the summit, as it is the perfect area to hike, bike, and fish for trout. When you and your family reach the summit, there is no better way to celebrate than buying fresh and hot donuts at the Summit View House.
The North Pole – Santa’s Workshop
One of the best kid-friendly activities to do is visit Santa at the North Pole. This Christmas theme park has more than two dozen family-friendly rides. From the Christmas Tree Ride, Antique Carousel, Miniature Train, and petting zoo, your kids will love spending the day at the North Pole. This wintery, holiday-themed amusement park is open May through Christmas Eve.
Dinosaur Resource Center
If your kids love dinosaurs then visiting the Dinosaur Resource Center is a must. This museum features many dinosaur fossils, and visitors can learn more about the Cretaceous Period as a guide takes you on a tour of the specimens. The Dinosaur Resource Center also has a laboratory where visitors can view specimens being discovered and restored. There is a play area for kids and lots of interactive educational activities during your visit to the museum.
The Penny Arcade
Located in Manitou Springs, the Penny Arcade is one of the best places to take your kids. This Colorado attraction features hundreds of arcade games, such as pinball, skee-ball, racing games, and pool tables. The Penny Arcade has a mix of antique and modern games where you can earn tickets to redeem prices. There are also small electronic rides for younger kids.
As one of the most fun activities in the Pikes Peak Region, the arcade is great for both kids and adults!
Bear Creek Regional Park
For outdoor family fun activities, Bear Creek Regional Park is a great place to spend an afternoon in the Springs. The park spans three miles over a total of 575 acres, which makes it the perfect place to hike or bike with the family. Bear Creek Regional Park also has a nature center that offers educational programs and activities.
