Halloween is coming, and we can’t wait! The Reichert Mortgage Team is participating in two local events that offer fun for the whole family—Trunk or Treat at Woodmen Hills and Pumpkin Carving at the Cimarron Hills Fire Department. We are passionate about our Colorado Springs community and believe that there’s no better way to get to know our neighbors than by participating in local events like these ones.
Your local home loan experts at the Reichert Mortgage Team are partnering up with Sellstate Alliance Realty to provide pumpkins and carving kits for Cimmaron Hills’ Halloween party. Join us on October 29th for food trucks, a haunted hallway, and lots of pumpkins. Watch the video below to learn more:
Now, let’s talk about trunk or treating.
What is a Trunk or Treat?
A trunk or treat is an event where families bring their cars to a central location (a community center in this case), so that kids can trick or treat by walking from vehicle to vehicle. Since there are lots of families around, it’s generally considered safer than going door-to-door in a neighborhood. Participants decorate their cars and come in costumes. Bonus points if your costume relates to your car decorations.
Where is the Woodmen Hills Rec Center?
The Woodmen Hills Rec Center is located in Falcon near the intersection of Stapleton and Meridian Ranch Blvd. There are two rec center locations, and this event will be held in the parking lot of the East location. The address is 9205 Meridian Ranch Blvd, Falcon, CO 80831.
When is Trunk or Treat?
Trunk or Treat at Woodmen Hills will occur on Friday, October 28th. From 5:30-7 pm, so swing by for trick or treating and make it home in time to enjoy pumpkin carving or a scary movie.
How can I Participate in Trunk or Treat?
All are welcome to come trick or treating, but if you want to participate in the event, you’ll need to register your car by calling (719) 495-2009. For everyone’s safety, the rec center needs to know how many vehicles are coming and will provide further instructions, such as guidelines for decorations.
Ideas for Trunk or Treat Decorations
If this is your first trunk or treat, you may not have any ideas for car decorations. Here are a few popular and family-friendly ideas for the 28th:
- Paper teeth and eyes: Make your trunk look like a monster with its mouth wide open.
- It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown: With a cardstock cutout of Linus, a blue blanket, and a few pumpkins, you’ll have the cutest car in the lot.
- A haunted trunk: Hang up a few sheet ghosts for a slightly spooky trick-or-treating experience.
- Buy a kit: There are a lot of fun kits available online or in party stores to make car decorations easy.
Since trunk or treating is popular with parents of young children, it’s best to avoid anything too scary.
