The Reichert Mortgage Team is one of the best mortgage brokers in Colorado Springs. As a veteran-owned-and-operated business, we’re proud to not only provide mortgage brokerage services, but to also highlight the real-life heroes of the Colorado Springs community. We’ve created the Pikes Peak Heroes program as our way of saying “thank you” to those that immensely help better our community. Each month, we focus on a different hero and the amazing strides they’ve made. For the month of August, we’re thrilled to be highlighting the work of the United States Coast Guard.

From firefighters to educators, we’re honored to do our part in thanking those that are such an integral part of the Colorado Springs community. As part of our program, we ask you to nominate your favorite hero. One lucky hero will be featured on our blog, and we will donate $100 to the charity of their choice! If you have a hero in your life that has inspired you or impacted your life, we would love to hear all about them!

Ways To Thank The Coast Guard

Whether someone in your family is in the coast guard, or one of your close friends is a part of the coast guard, you understand how much they sacrifice to protect other people. The Peterson Air Force Base was founded in Colorado Springs in 2007, and since then has been the home to countless of brave men and women who prioritize the well-being and safety of others. If you want to show your support and appreciation for these courageous folks, but aren’t quite sure how, here are some ideas:

  1. Send a thank you message
    • You can send a message of thanks to someone through the Coast Guard Foundation. The Coast Guard Foundation provides emergency aid to Coast Guard families who’ve been impacted by the death of a loved one who passed while in the line of duty. Writing a thank you message takes only a few moments of your day, but it can truly uplift a coast guard and give them the strength they need to get through a hard day of work.
  2. Send a basket
    • Supporting the brave men and women of the Coast Guard is an important part of bringing our Colorado Springs community together. One way that you can show your support is by sending a basket to the Coast Guard personnel located on Peterson Air Force Base. The small group of active duty and reserve personnel stationed here would be sincerely touched by the generosity of such a gift.
  3. Buy them a meal
    • One popular way to thank those that serve our country is by buying a meal or paying the bill when you see an individual of the Coast Guard dining out. Although a small gesture, it’s acts of kindness like this that can dramatically improve a person’s day, and remind someone of how much their selflessness and work is appreciated.

Nominate An Individual In The Coast Guard

If you know an active member or past member of the U.S. Coast Guard, please send in your nomination for this month’s Pikes Peak Heroes program. These men and women sacrifice their lives every day to save and protect the people of our country, and there is simply nothing more selfless than that. The Reichert Mortgage Team is honored to have a small part in thanking these brave individuals. We look forward to hearing about all the amazing Coast Guard folks in your lives, and can’t wait to share with you our lucky hero for this month!
