As a veteran-owned-and-operated business, the Reichert Mortgage Team is honored to have created a program that highlights the real-life heroes of the Colorado Springs community. The Pikes Peak Heroes program is our way of saying “thank you” to those that selflessly gave their time and resources to help better the community. Each month, our program focuses on different heroes. From firefighters to educators, we make it a point to remember how lucky we are to have these people be an integral part of our community.
Every month, we ask you to nominate your favorite heroes that have impacted your lives. Then, we feature one lucky hero on our blog and donate $100 to the charity of their choice! This month, we’re thrilled to be highlighting those that have served, or are currently serving, in the army. Army individuals are some of the most selfless people that exist. They risk their lives and leave their families to make sure that we and our families have a safe place to come home to every night. June 14th is the Army’s birthday, honoring the day that Congress founded the U.S. Army, making June the perfect month to honor the army individuals in our lives.
Ways To Thank The Army
If you know someone who’s served and you want to show them how grateful you are, but don’t quite know how here are some easy and small ways to show your appreciation. Remember, no one takes up this position because they’re expecting gifts when they come back home. Anyone in the army would be happy just to know that you appreciate everything they’ve sacrificed.
- Send a care package
- A wonderful way to thank service members is by sending them a care package. Sending a box filled with their favorite treats and memories of home reminds them that they’re in your thoughts. Even though they may be thousands of miles away, a heartfelt care package can make them feel like they’re back at home.
- Volunteer
- Supporting organizations that benefit the military is one of the best ways to show your appreciation. Not only will you be saying “thank you” in a meaningful way, but volunteering is one of the most self-rewarding ways to spend your time.
- Buy a service member a meal
- One way that you may have already thanked an army individual is by buying them a meal. Although a small gesture, it’s acts of kindness like this that can dramatically improve a person’s day, and remind them of how much they’re appreciated.
Nominate An Army Individual
If you know someone in the army that you would like to honor, make sure to send in your nomination. The Colorado Springs community is honored to have many army individuals who help make our home a better place, and the Pikes Peak Heroes program is a small way to show our thanks. The Reichert Mortgage Team is looking forward to reading about all of the amazing people you know who have served in the army!
