As a veteran-owned-and-operated business, we strive to do more than just help clients find the right home mortgage for their family. The Reichert Mortgage Team has created a program to highlight the real-life heroes of the Colorado Springs community. We’re so lucky to be a part of a community where people have dedicated their life’s work to helping others. From EMTs to teachers, we believe it’s important to honor those that have helped shape and provide for our community. The Pikes Peak Heroes program is our way of saying “thank you” to those that selflessly gave their time and resources to help better Colorado Springs.

Each month, we ask you to nominate your favorite heroes that have impacted your lives. Do you want to know what the best part is? One lucky hero will be featured on our blog, and in honor of them, we will donate $100 to the charity of their choice! Each month, our program focuses on different heroes. For July, we’re thrilled to be focusing on the exceptional police force of Colorado Springs. Every day, the Colorado Springs Police Department goes out into the world and makes sure that they’re keeping our community safe. They selflessly put their lives at risk, so that we’re able to live in peace.

Ways To Thank Police Officers

Whether someone in your family is a police officer, or you’ve become friendly with a police officer in town, now is the perfect time to thank them for all that they do. If you don’t know how to show that you’re thankful for their service, here are some simple ways to show them your appreciation. Remember, people don’t become police officers because they expect people to say “thank you,” they become police officers because they’re passionate about protecting the community. Any police officer would be grateful just to hear a “thank you,” but if you’d like to do a little more, here are some ideas.

  1. Drop off a treat
    • A tasty way to thank the police force is by dropping off some baked goods at a police station or courthouse. Whether you make a basket of muffins or put together a care package of yummy fruits, the pick-me-up will be sure to make any police officer smile. Police officers usually have an incredibly busy schedule, so being able to grab a quick treat during work is much appreciated.
  2. Volunteer
    • Supporting organizations that benefit the police force is one of the best ways to show your appreciation. Not only will you be saying “thank you” in a meaningful way, but volunteering is one of the most self-rewarding ways to spend your time.
  3. Give them drawings from your children
    • If you have children, having them draw some pictures is a creative, personal way to thank police officers for their work. It’s also a great way to have your entire family be a part of thanking the police force.

Nominate An Individual In The Police Force

If you know someone who has been or is currently in the police force, make sure to send in your nomination. We’re honored to have men and women who prioritize the safety of the Colorado Springs community and are passionate about their work. The Pikes Peak Heroes program is our small way of showing our thanks for all the sacrifices that the police have given. The Reichert Mortgage Team is looking forward to reading about all of the amazing people you know who is an active or retired police officer!
